Lord Of The Flies Over all Feelings
I feel that Lord of The Flies was good. I found it more entertaining that To Kill A Mocking Bird. Although there were some areas in the book that were rather confusing but after I thought about them I understood. If i hadn't missed school it would of been better for the whole group. Megan did a outstanding job, if we hadn't had her the group would done horribly. Kirsten also did a good job with turning everything in on time. Honestly they would of done a better job without me in the group.

Lord Of the Flies ending prediction
I predict that the children will be found by the adults in the middle of a battle between the two villages. The groups will probably be in to much shock to talk to the adults but will be clinging to them like glue. It will also probably end with it actually being a story from one of the few children that survived during the time on the island

Chapter 11 summary and response
In chapter 11 Ralph realized that Jack's tribe stole Piggy's specs. The fire had burnt out. Which left them with nothing at all. The whole tribe went to Jack's cave. Then that is where Piggy ends up dying. Both Zero and Sam get captured. Ralph gets injured. This chapter played a big role in the book. So much bad stuff has happened. Simon and Piggy are dead, which leave ralph with nobody to turn to. Since Jack has captured Sam and Eric, they can't help Ralph out. Ralph feels very alone and gets worried about what is going to happen next.

Overall feelings of the book
I feel that the book was confusing. It was really hard for me to follow and keep up. But In the end it was a really good book and I enjoyed reading it. I like how there are many tragedies and bad events. It lead me to wonder who would survive and who would not get so lucky. Overall the group did pretty good. With George missing so much school it made it rough for him to get his work done on time. Megan did an amazing job. I feel Our group would have not gone far without her. Megan is a hard worker and gets her work done. I feel that I did and overall good job with my work and contributions to the group. I feel we could have worked harder.

My Feelings One The Book
I feel that the book was a bit of a difficult read. It had many moments that were confusing. But, overall, I enjoyed the book. At times I didn't know how to react to the events that occurred. In a way, I think the tragedies and the events were good and bad. For example, when Piggy died, Ralph had less to worry about. At the same time, he had a larger chance of being killed.
Overall, the group work went pretty well. With George missing several days of school, it made things a bit more difficult. Catching up on the work was tough. Kierstin did really well with turning things in on time. I feel that I did as well. The first blog post didn't go so well. Once we knew how to do it, things were back in order. We could've worked a little harder. - Megan King

Chapter 11, Summary and Response
In chapter 11, Ralph realized that Jack's tribe stole Piggy' s specs. They were left with nothing. The fire went out. Piggy decides he wants to go and get back his specs. Ralph doesn't think it's a good idea, at all. Later on, the whole tribe goes to Jack's cave where Piggy dies, Sam and zero get captured, and Ralph gets hurt.
I feel that this chapter is the largest turning point in the book. With Simon and Piggy dead, Ralph had nobody. Sam and Eric still want to protect Ralph, but they can't because Jack has captured them. I think Ralph begins to feel a withdraw. He needs someone to vent to. If I were him, I would want to die. Being alone, is the worst part of all of it. - Megan King

Chapter 9 summary
In chapter 9 most off Ralph's tribe leaves for jacks tribe. Most of them gathered firewood for there fire. When all of a sudden everyone notecied Simon was missing. They figured he was out doing something. Ralph's tribe traveled to the land where Jacks tribe was for a big feast. They tried to call a meeting, but it ended badly. They started talking about Simons death and Jack and Ralph got in a fight over who's fault it was that the fire went out. I feel if the boys would have been more worried and mature about stuff, then Simon would still be alive. They were all to busy arguing nd fighting about stuff to realize what was going on. I believe that Jack has a really bad controlling problem. That is why most of the boys don't like him.
- Kiersten Swinderman
Ending prediction
I predict the book to end by all the boys getting saved. I believe along the way of them getting rescued many of them will die. Simon is already dead so there are many chances some more boys could lose there life's. I think jack and piggy wwill end up dying. Jack is to controlling and has a really bad attitude towards everything and everyone. Possibly Ralph will become leader again. Since everyone was scared of jack things should go back to normal when everything first started. The boys will like not being beat all the time by jack. This is my ending prediction to the book Lord of The Flies.

Chapter 6 Summary
Chapter 6 starts with a dead man with a parachute falling and landing not to far from the children. The beginning is at night with all the children tossing and turning on the brown bed leaves it was the twins turn to watch the fire during the night but they both ended up falling asleep. From this the fire is almost unreserectable from the fading red coals. The fire was brought back luckly though. THe so called "Beast" was also possibly seen. Ralph has also just gotten to sleep when the children came running beacause of the "Beast". Jack wants to hunt the thing down Ralph thinking of his leadership joins. They soon walk through an area of rocks doon called the castle. Of course where they first look for the creature they couldnt find it. soon everyonw would go to the area calling it Wizard Fort. Chapter 9, Summary and Response
In chapter 9, most of Ralph's tribe leaves for Jack's tribe. They sneak away, while gathering wood for the fire. All the boys noticed that Simon was missing. The assumed he was bathing. Piggy and Ralph had a water fight, where Piggy chickened out. He didn't want to ruin his specs. Ralph's tribe traveled to the land of Jack's tribe for a feast. They tried to have a meeting it ended in the dancing and killing of Simon. Ralph and Jack got in a fight over whose fault it was that the fire went out.
I think that if the boys would have had more common sense, Simon wouldn't have been killed. Their minds were messed up, and they were agitated with each other. They so would have thought through things more. I feel that Jack is overbearing, and rude. He has control issues, and should seek help if they ever make it back. - Megan King
Ending Prediction
I predict that in the end of the book they will be rescued. On the way to being rescued, that many of the boys will die. With Simon already dead, you never know how things will turn out. I think Jack will be killed, by all the boys that are sick of his attitude. Ralph will become leader again and Piggy will be his sidekick.
I think the younger boys are starting to realize that they can't play all the time anymore. With all of the boys scared of Jack, when they have Ralph back leading them, they will behave perfectly. They will enjoy not being beaten and tied up by Jack and his tribe. This is my prediction to the end of The Lord of The Flies. - Megan King

Summary chapter 8
All the boys were so scared of the beast. They did not want to leave the fire because they felt as if the creature was waiting for them. They had to make new rules and keep the fire going so there would be smoke. Also so they could have a nice fire to sit beside when they were cold. They all froze and say there in silence for a while. Then Simon picked up te conch cell and blew in it.

One interesting fact from this website is that boars aren't native to North America. Another is that male boars have long tusks that stick out of their mouths. Lastly, boars enjoy living near water sources. - Megan King

chapter 4 summary
In chapter 4 of Lord of the flies most of the stranded children(boys) neglected their responsibilties. One of which being the most important, keeping the fire going at all hours of the day. Instead the group assigned this job were off hunting. In the meen time a ship is spotted on the horizon but they have no fire to signal the passing ship. All the children learn a lesson that day.
Chapter 4 Summary and Response
In chapter four, Jack paints his face before he goes hunting. He believes this is a sign htat he should be incharge. Ralph notices Jack's change in behaviorand becomes angry as well as jealous. The group notices a ship, but hten they realize that the fire went out and it was Jack's fault. Jack tries to cover it up in a way by saying he killed a pig. The group was happy they had meat, but yet Ralph was angry about the fire.
I think Jack should've kept a better watch on the fire or asked somebody else to help. If the fire would've still been smoking, the ship would've seen them and could've rescued them. Being stuck on the island would be torturous. I can understand why there would be fighting. I also understand why Ralph feels like everything is all on him. He has to carry a lot of weight on his shoulders. He leared this from the building of the shelters.

Symbolism
Symbolism- the practice of representing by symbols, or of investing things with a symbolic meaning or character
Symbolism applies to the book because, the conch shell is a symbol to the group. The conch shell represents a feeling of family and order. They need the shell to keep order, call meetings, and provide the speaker with the right to talk. Chapter 2-3 shows this well.

The symbolism of the Conch Shell
The conch shell is symbolizing power. Jack is worthy of leading them and must be reliable for their survival and luck. It is a symbol of hope as well because as long as there is order, there is a chance of survival. the counch shell is very rare. This shell holds a dark and mysterious power over the group who are lost and standed on the island without adults. They have no clues or means of escape. I don't think this will work for the boys. I think it will take the boys to far off the island andd something bad will happen to one of them, if not all of them. - Kierstin Swinderman

Chapter 2 shows many different feelings. Piggy is nervous throughout the whole chapter. He feels neglected, when Ralph chooses Jack Simon for the scouting. On the other hand, Ralph feels overwhelmed. Jack adds pressure to his duty. The children run around to scope things out on the island. Piggy gets a angry with Jack, when Jack over powers Jim. However, he is honored that his glasses we're used for the fire. At end, Piggy and the younger children believe the boy with the Mark on his head was eaten by a snakey beast. - Megan King
Chapter one starts the book with the introduction of all the boys. This also shows the many different strengths of the group such as Jack and his dominant trait. My reaction to this chapter is how calm the whole group is. I figured from how dependent children are at this age this would cause them to be terrified and scrambled. - George Seketa
