Chapter 11, Summary and Response

In chapter 11, Ralph realized that Jack's tribe stole Piggy' s specs. They were left with nothing. The fire went out. Piggy decides he wants to go and get back his specs. Ralph doesn't think it's a good idea, at all. Later on, the whole tribe goes to Jack's cave where Piggy dies, Sam and zero get captured, and Ralph gets hurt. I feel that this chapter is the largest turning point in the book. With Simon and Piggy dead, Ralph had nobody. Sam and Eric still want to protect Ralph, but they can't because Jack has captured them. I think Ralph begins to feel a withdraw. He needs someone to vent to. If I were him, I would want to die. Being alone, is the worst part of all of it. - Megan King
